Stonemason Filip Filipov: My passion for stone began in childhood

The 24-year-old sculptor has already carved images of rulers and heroes from stone

Filip Filipov is a graduate of the stonemasonry school in Kunino and a student at the National Academy of Arts, majoring in sculpture.

After completing his bachelor’s degree, he is continuing his studies with a master’s degree in classical sculpture. “My interest in art began in my childhood through my father, of blessed memory; he was also a graduate of the stonemasonry school in Kunino.

Even from those early years, I was interested in developing in the fields of sculpture and stonemasonry, and after enrolling in the stonemasonry school, I was one hundred percent certain that this was the path I wanted to follow.”
